Sustainable Products Mean a Brighter Future In the past two years, Allied Concrete Products has worked diligently to determine the best way to provide the market with masonry units that exceed the governing specifications and provide leadership in the industry to make masonry the optimal building material choice for the generation of LEED points for U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) building certification. In this spirit, we received cradle to cradle certification for our finished product as well as the recycled material utilized to produce these units. The Cradle to Cradle designation means that companies use environmentally safe and healthy materials in their design. These can include material reutilization, such as renewable energy and energy efficiency, efficient use of water; or maximum water quality associated with the design and production. Imperative to us is that all the products used in our Certified LEED units meet the ASTM specifications for materials – ASTM C 331 for lightweight aggregates and ASTM C 33 for Normal Weight Aggregates.
